Looking for botox, dermal filler or Sculptra® in Kamloops, BC? Dr. Kaleb Falk, ND has been offering cosmetic injections in Kamloops for over 12 years. Here’s his advice on choosing the right cosmetic injection treatment for your concern.
When people start looking for cosmetic injections in Kamloops, they’re usually not starting with a product in mind. They’re starting with a concern.
Maybe you’ve noticed you look a bit more tired than you used to. Maybe certain areas feel less defined, or lines are starting to show up that weren’t there before. From there, you’re not really looking for a specific injection or product—you’re trying to understand what’s causing that change and what, if anything, makes sense to address it. Which cosmetic injection makes the most sense for treating your concern: botox, dermal fillers, or biostimulators, such as Sculptra? Let’s get into it.

Which cosmetic injections are right for you?
Most of my patients don’t come to me knowing exactly what cosmetic injection treatment they need or want—and that’s completely normal. Botox, dermal fillers and Sculptra all serve different purposes and can be used in conjunction depending on the desired outcome. Wrinkles, volume loss, asymmetry, collagen decline, can all be addressed with cosmetic injections, but the treatments used to do so may overlap. That’s why choosing your cosmetic injections in Kamloops based on the name of a cosmetic injection alone usually doesn’t make sense.
Should I get botox in Kamloops?
Neuromodulators, most commonly referred to as botox but could be any of Canada’s four approved brands, Xeomin®, Nuceiva™, BOTOX® Cosmetic, Dysport®, temporarily block the signal between the nerve and the muscle, which reduces how strongly that muscle can contract.
Patients often choose this treatment to soften dynamic wrinkles (lines that form with movement) and help prevent static wrinkles (lines that are present at rest), most commonly in areas like the forehead, frown lines (the “11s” between the brows), crow’s feet around the eyes, and even the upper lip for a lip flip.
How long does botox last?
Botox typically lasts three to four months, although this can vary depending on factors like muscle strength, treatment area and metabolism. Some patients can see results up to six months after their treatment, some count down the days to the three mark when they can come see me again.

What can botox treat?
In my practice, the most common areas I treat with botox are:
- Frown lines between the brows (“11s”)
- Forehead lines
- Crow’s feet (around the eyes)
- Bunny lines (nose wrinkles)
- Lip flip (upper lip)
- Gummy smile
- Downturned corners of the mouth
- Chin dimpling (“orange peel chin”)
- Jawline slimming (masseter)
- Neck bands (platysmal bands)
- Brow lift (subtle lift effect)
How much is botox in Kamloops?
I must preface this entire answer by pleading that you do not choose your cosmetic injector (or treatments) solely based on price. If the price is “too good to be true” on Groupon, it probably is. In Kamloops, the price of botox ranges between $8-$15/unit, with the number of units ranging greatly based on the individual and treatment area. That said, here are the most common treatment area and the range of number of units they may need to help you determine the possible treatment cost.
- Lip Flip: 4-16 units
- Crow’s Feet: 5-15 units
- Frown Lines: 10-25 units
- Forehead Lines: 10-30 units
- Jaw Slimming: 15-50+ units

Is botox in Kamloops safe?
Botox is a very safe treatment when it’s done properly, but like anything medical, it’s not completely without risk. The most common side effects are mild; slight redness, swelling, or bruising at the injection site. These usually settle within a few days.
Who is not a good candidate for botox?
There are also some situations where botox isn’t appropriate. If you’re pregnant or breastfeeding, we would hold off on treatment. The same goes for certain neurological conditions, or if there’s any active irritation or infection in the area being treated. And for some, botox may not be the best treatment for their specific concerns—but don’t worry, there are two other cosmetic injection options in Kamloops that may be a better fit. Let’s get into them.

Should I get dermal filler in Kamloops?
Dermal filler works differently. It’s a hyaluronic acid product that’s used to add structure and support beneath the skin—not just “volume,” but shape, definition and balance. In my practice, I’m not always using filler to make features bigger. Patients come in for a lot of different reasons: improving asymmetry, refining lip shape, softening a scar, or supporting areas like the cheeks, chin or jawline to bring the whole profile into better balance. I build filler gradually, reassess over time, and I’m not afraid to say no if adding more product is going to compromise the result. I tend to use Revanesse because it integrates well into the tissue and gives a softer, more natural finish—exactly what we’re aiming for.

What can dermal filler treat?
Dermal filler is commonly used to address concerns like volume loss, asymmetry, contour irregularities, and overall facial balance. In my practice, the most commonly treated areas include:
- Lips (volume, shape, hydration)
- Nasolabial folds (smile lines)
- Marionette lines (corners of the mouth)
- Cheeks (midface volume and lift)
- Chin (projection and balance)
- Jawline (definition and structure)
- Under eyes (tear troughs)
- Temples (volume restoration)
One of the biggest misconceptions about filler is that it’s about adding volume everywhere. In reality, it’s much more about placement. Small, strategic amounts can make a significant difference in how the face looks as a whole. When done properly, dermal filler should integrate with your natural anatomy and not look obvious.
How much is dermal filler in Kamloops, BC?
In Kamloops, dermal filler is typically priced per syringe and generally ranges from $600–$1000/per syringe. The number of syringes needed varies significantly based on your anatomy, goals, and whether we’re building gradually or maintaining results. That said, here are some common treatment areas and typical ranges to help you understand potential cost:
- Lips: 0–1 syringe
- Cheeks (midface): 1–2 syringes
- Nasolabial folds (smile lines): 1–2 syringes
- Marionette lines: 1–2 syringes
- Chin: 1–2 syringes
- Jawline: 2–4+ syringes
- Under eyes (tear troughs): 0–1 syringe
- Temples: 1–2 syringes

How long do dermal filler results last?
Most fillers last somewhere between six months and a couple of years, but this is actually a loaded question that likely deserves its own dedicated article. Some studies using MRI have shown that cross‑linked hyaluronic acid fillers can persist in the tissues for two years or more, challenging the older assumption that fillers disappear completely after just a few months. That doesn’t mean you’ll look “filled” forever, over time the visible effect softens and your face gradually returns to baseline, but it does remind us that these products integrate with your tissue and can stick around beneath the surface. This is why the consultation portion of your treatment with me is so important as sometimes we may have to dissolve old migrating dermal filler before starting fresh.
Depending on the area treated, the specific formulation and your own anatomy, your dermal filler may wear faster or slower as well. Areas like the lips tend to need more frequent touch-ups simply because they move more.
In my practice, I use Revanesse, a Canadian‑made hyaluronic acid filler, which is formulated with spherical particles designed to degrade slowly. Ultimately, how long filler lasts is highly individual—your metabolic rate, facial muscle activity and the area’s movement all play a role.
Should I get Sculptra in Kamloops?
The honest answer is: it depends on what you’re trying to treat.
Sculptra® takes a more gradual approach. It stimulates collagen over time, helping rebuild underlying structure rather than creating an immediate change. That makes it a great option if you’re noticing more generalized volume loss, thinning, or early changes in facial support—but not if you’re looking for instant results.
In practice, most patients don’t need just one treatment. You might need neuromodulators to address movement, filler to support a specific area, and Sculptra® to improve overall structure more gradually. Or you may not need treatment at all yet.
That’s why trying to decide on your own can feel confusing. You’re not really choosing between products—you’re trying to understand what’s causing the change.
My role as your Kamloops cosmetic injector is to assess that in a consultation, explain what’s actually happening, and walk you through what would (or wouldn’t) make sense for you. From there, you can decide how you want to move forward.

Sculptra is a collagen-stimulating injectable composed of poly-L-lactic acid.
What does Sculptra treat?
Sculptra® is used to treat volume loss, facial hollowing, and loss of structural support, but it does this very differently than traditional filler. It’s a biostimulatory injectable that works by stimulating your body’s own collagen production, so instead of instantly filling space, it gradually rebuilds what’s been lost over time.
In my practice, I use Sculptra® to treat broader areas of volume loss and structural change, including:
- Temples (early volume loss and hollowing)
- Lateral cheeks and midface (loss of fullness and support)
- Jawline (laxity and loss of definition)
It’s particularly effective for patients experiencing facial fat atrophy, generalized thinning, or early aging changes, where we’re trying to restore a foundation rather than just treat a single line.
The goal with Sculptra® isn’t to “add filler”—it’s to rebuild collagen, improve skin quality, and restore structure in a way that looks gradual and undetectable over time.

Who is not a good candidate for Sculptra?
Sculptra® isn’t the right fit for everyone, and knowing when not to use it is just as important as knowing when to use it.
In my practice, Sculptra® is not ideal for:
- Patients looking for immediate results (this is a gradual treatment that takes weeks to months)
- Patients wanting targeted, precise corrections (like lips, under-eyes, or fine lines around the mouth)
- Areas with high movement (perioral region), where there’s a higher risk of clumping or nodules
- Patients with very thin skin in delicate areas (like under-eyes), where product visibility and irregular texture can occur
- Patients looking for “more volume right now” rather than a gradual, natural build
More broadly, it’s also not ideal if:
- You’re not willing to commit to multiple sessions and maintenance
- You prefer a quick, reversible treatment (like hyaluronic acid fillers)
- You’re not comfortable with a treatment that builds over time rather than instantly changing your appearance
Sculptra® works best for patients who want subtle, progressive, and longer-term structural improvement, not a quick fix.
How much is Sculptra in Kamloops, BC?
Sculptra®is priced per vial, not per syringe. In Kamloops, you can expect roughly $800–$1,200+ per vial. The total cost varies because most patients need multiple vials over multiple sessions to build results, then less for maintenance. This is one of those treatments where a consultation matters—you’re not just paying for product, you’re paying for a overall treatment plan.

Which cosmetic injections are best for you? | Botox, Dermal Filler and Sculptra in Kamloops?
Not to change the question, but before we can answer you’ll have to answer this: What is driving you to seek out cosmetic injections? From there, I can help access your concerns and help determine the best treatment or combination of treatments to help address said concern.
Cosmetic injection consultations with me in Kamloops are not just about determining the best treatment for you, but they are also about understanding the motivation behind the decision and whether any treatment makes sense in the first place.
We’ll go through your medical history, assess your face both at rest and in motion, and look at what’s contributing to the changes you’re noticing. From there, I’ll walk you through your options and explain what would (or wouldn’t) be appropriate.
This is also where things like pricing and treatment planning come together. Because everything is personalized, it’s difficult to give an accurate estimate beforehand. Once I’ve had a chance to assess your anatomy and understand your goals, I’ll present your options.
Consultations are always complimentary, and there’s no pressure to move forward with treatment. If you are not 100 percent confident in moving ahead with the treatment, we will not move ahead with it. As a provider, my mission is to educate and provide my patients all the information to make the best decision for you.
